I’m a mixed media artist working with still image, paint, ceramics, moving image and sound. Originally from the UK, I've been living and working in Auckland for close to 7 years.
Sense of place, identity and belonging, as well as concepts of liminality, liquidity and temporality feature strongly in my works. Seascapes are my main source of inspiration and I often incorporate these places into my works with items gathered from my visits to the coast. Pieces are held in the New Zealand Maritime Museum, the McGregor Museum, and private collections.
DWELL (2024) explored my sense of identity and connection to place as a person living away from their homeland and family. This was my first public showcase of mixed media artworks, moving image and sound. DWELL formed the final major project for my MA in Fine Arts, which I achieved in May 2024.
FATHOM (2023) was my debut solo exhibition, featuring contemporary portraiture exploring visualisations of depression and feelings of overwhelm. I used photography of ocean waves captured near where I grew up in the UK, printed onto fabric and made into a custom dress by talented collaborators.

I'm currently focussed on capturing intimate portraits of the liminal landscapes of Auckland's west coast beaches. I'm also following in the footsteps of my mother and grandfather by working with clay and creating ceramics, incorporating place by adding sand, shells, beach grasses and feathers gathered from the west coast, and experimenting with the entire process of using this medium.
